Youth Volunteer

Position Description


1.1 Meet regularly with church pastor, youth elder, and youth mentors, and reach out as necessary.


2.1 Organise and oversee Youth Sabbath School.

2.2 Finalise a roster before the commencement of each school term.


3.1 Develop a yearly ministry budget.

3.2 Present this budget to the Church Board when requested by the church Treasurer.

3.3 Make purchases using personal bank card and email receipts to church Treasurer for reimbursement.


4.1 Organise and run youth social events.

4.2 Finalise a social calendar before the commencement of each term.


5.1 Give a list of names of everyone working in Youth Ministry to the church AdSafe Coordinator and Blue Card Coordinator. 


6.1 Ensure Risk Assessments are completed for all relevant activities. A Risk Assessment template can be downloaded here.

6.2 Send completed Risk Assessment to the church’s WHS Coordinator for review.

6.3 Upon approval from the WHS Coordinator, present the completed Risk Assessments to the Church Board to be voted upon.


7.1 Prepare and run one youth church service per school term.


8.1 Assist with Messy Church and coordinate the youth's involvement in this outreach program.


9.1 Run Bible studies at King's Christian College for Coastlife Youth.


10.1 Run Bible studies for primary and high school students at Gold Coast Christian College.


11.1 Attend Gold Coast Cluster meeting with other Gold Coast pastors.

12.1 Bible studies with contacts from Coastlife.


13.1 Visitations with Coastlife members and contacts.


14.1 Regular preaching appointments at Coastlife.


15.1 Provide a ministry report at each Church Board meeting and answer questions from Board Members.


16.1 Work with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders to ensure integrated strategy and inclusiveness.1.0 Mentor, support, and meet regularly with youth leaders.


17.1 Store all ministry documents in the Coastlife Google Drive.


Accountability

  • To the Coastlife Pastor on a day-to-day basis.
  • To the Coastlife Church Board throughout the year.
  • To the Gold Coast Christian College Chaplain when volunteering at the school.

Reporting

  • Each month a brief report will be submitted to the Coastlife Pastor and the Church Board covering the Youth Volunteer's:
    - Involvement in their Areas of Responsibility.
    - Current focus.
    - Positive experiences.
    - Challenges.
