Children's Ministry Leader

Position Description


1.1 Mentor, support, and meet regularly with the team leaders of:

  • Beginner's Sabbath School
  • Primary Sabbath School
  • Junior’s Sabbath School
  • Messy Church
  • Adventurers 
  • Mother’s Group

2.1 Reach out to the Children’s Ministry elder as required.


3.1 Ensure Sabbath School classes are being organised.

3.2 Assist with rostering as required.


4.1 Work with team leaders to develop yearly budgets for each of these ministries.

4.2 These budgets are to be presented to the Church Board when requested by the church Treasurer.


5.1 Give a list of names of everyone working in Children’s Ministry to the church AdSafe Coordinator and Blue Card Coordinator. 


6.1 Ensure team leaders complete Risk Assessments for relevant activities. A Risk Assessment template can be downloaded here.

6.2 Ask team leaders to send completed Risk Assessment to the church’s WHS Coordinator for review.

6.3 Upon approval from the WHS Coordinator, present the completed Risk Assessments to the Church Board to be voted upon.


7.1 Provide a ministry report at each Church Board meeting and be prepared to answer questions from Board Members.


8.1 Work with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders to ensure integrated strategy and inclusiveness.


9.1 Store all ministry documents in the Coastlife Google Drive.
